Founder
Hi, I'm Corrie Sabel. I'm a mom, advocate, and the proud founder of The Quiet Strength Project. My family has spent countless hours in hospitals, navigating diagnoses, surgeries, and the everyday realities of raising a child with complex medical needs. Those experiences have shaped who I am and inspired me to turn our journey into something that could bring hope to others. When I'm not working on the nonprofit, you'll usually find me with my family, reading, or dreaming up new ways to make a meaningful difference. I believe that kindness, compassion, and community can make even the hardest days a little lighter, and I'm honored to serve families who remind me every day what true strength looks like.
Vice President
Hi, I’m Mary- a proud mother of four incredible children and the heart behind my reason why for joining The Quiet Strength Project. Born and raised in Alaska, I now call the Midwest home because of the exceptional medical care available for my oldest child, who lives with chronic illnesses and complex medical needs. That experience has deeply shaped my passion for supporting families facing similar challenges. When I’m not spending time with my family or advocating for caregivers, you’ll usually find us exploring new adventures together. I love making memories with my children, whether we’re kayaking, discovering new places, or cheering each other on. Through my personal journey and my work with The Quiet Strength Project, I’m committed to bringing hope, encouragement, and practical support to caregivers and families. I believe no one should have to walk this journey alone.

My name is Lynette Kirk. I’ve been married to my husband for 7 years. Together, we have a blended family with our two amazing toddlers, his two children who are young adults, and my oldest niece. I became a board member of The Quiet Strength Project because I believe that some of the strongest people are the ones who keep showing up, even when life feels incredibly heavy, and they need support more than ever. As the owner of a private practice serving Illinois and Iowa, I am committed to helping individuals discover hope, healing, and resilience. But my passion extends beyond my work as a therapist. I believe that real change happens when communities come together to support one another, have honest conversations about mental health, and remind people that they are never alone.
Treasurer
My name is Angela Beard and I reside in Davenport, Iowa. I’ve been married to my husband, Drew for 14 years and we have two children together. Kaden who is 13 years old and Aurora who is 10 years old. When Aurora was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) our entire world was turned upside down. We had never heard of the rare neuromuscular disease and every medical appointment, therapy session, medication appointment, and hospital visit pushed us further into the unknown. Being able to help other families navigate the unknowns and support them during the process of diagnosis, treatment, hospital stays and the day to day survival is what brought me to The Quiet Strength Project. I’m thrilled to be a community support for local families and I look forward to meeting new people, making connections and supporting the special needs community.
